$100 an hour. And nothing else around it.
Most agencies won’t give you a number before three meetings. We post ours: $100 an hour for development, with zero hours billed for project management or an account manager. You pay for the work that builds your site, not for the structure around it.
Web development
100 $/ hour
Design, development, web copywriting and SEO — one rate for all of it.
$0 in project management
No account manager
No outsourcing
Zero project-management hours
Plenty of mandates get billed for coordination, internal meetings and administrative follow-up. Those hours do not appear on your invoice here. They do not exist in our days either: there is nobody to coordinate.
No account manager to pay for
No middleman who takes your request, rephrases it, passes it along, then calls you back two days later. You talk directly to the person writing the code and designing your pages. Nothing gets lost on the way.
We are fast, and it shows on the invoice
An honest hourly rate means nothing if the hours balloon. We work with our own tools, our own components and a method refined over dozens of sites. The same result takes fewer hours — that is where you actually save.
Why we publish our rate
Because you deserve to know before you call
Shopping for a web supplier without ever seeing a number is exhausting. You fill in forms, explain your project three times, and two weeks later a quote finally lands — sometimes at three times your budget. We find that disrespectful of everyone’s time, yours and ours.
Publishing $100 an hour settles it in ten seconds. If the rate does not work for you, you know immediately and you look elsewhere, no hard feelings. If it does, the conversation starts on the real subject: what you want to build, and how many hours it takes.
Because an hourly rate can be checked
A flat price pulled out of thin air tells you nothing about what you are buying. An hourly rate does: you can compare it, question it, ask how many hours a given feature takes and why. It is a basis for discussion, not a black box.
And it works both ways. If a request turns out simpler than expected, it costs less. Nobody keeps the difference because “it was in the package”.
Because structure is what costs money elsewhere
In an agency organised into teams, a real share of the budget goes into making the team run: coordination meetings, handoffs between the salesperson, the account manager, the designer and the developer, status reports, internal reviews. That work is legitimate — necessary, even, when there are twenty of you. It still ends up on your invoice.
With no outsourcing and no middle layer, those hours disappear. It is not magic and it is not a discount: it is simply work that does not need doing.
What actually drives the hours
The rate is fixed; the number of hours depends on your project. Here is what genuinely moves the needle, so you can estimate on your side before you even write to us.
Page and template count
A service page repeated ten times is designed once. Ten genuinely different pages means ten designs.
Content
If you supply the text and photos, we move fast. If we write everything, budget copywriting time — often the biggest difference between two quotes.
Features
A form is quick. A store with inventory, online booking, a calculator or an integration with your management software is another order of magnitude.
Migrating an existing site
Preserving addresses Google already knows, redirecting old content and not losing earned rankings takes careful work a brand-new site does not need.
Bilingual
Two versions means twice the writing and a language structure handled properly, not just a translate button.
Review cycles
We plan rounds of revisions. A project where approvals come back quickly takes fewer hours than one that waits three weeks at every step.
How the estimate actually works
The number one fear with an hourly rate is not knowing where it stops. Here is exactly how we proceed, so there is no surprise on the first invoice.
A twenty-minute call
We look at your current site if you have one, what you sell, to whom, and what you want the site to achieve. No sales pitch — questions. It is free and commits you to nothing.
A written, itemised estimate
You get the hours by block of work — design, build, copywriting, SEO, launch — with what each block covers. You see where every hour goes, and you can take blocks out.
An agreed ceiling before we start
We agree on a maximum number of hours for the described scope. If something falls outside it along the way, we tell you before doing it. Never after.
A readable invoice
Hours are broken down by block, not lumped into one line saying “web development”. You can check what was done. And if a block took less time than planned, you pay less.
Included in every mandate, at no extra charge
- SEO foundations: page structure, titles, tags, structured data, speed, mobile version, sitemap and Search Console setup.
- A fully responsive site, tested on phone, tablet and desktop.
- An admin interface to edit your own text and photos, with training at launch.
- Full ownership: domain name, hosting, content and analytics accounts in your name.
- Our direct exchanges during the project — calls, emails and approvals are not billable hours.

Questions about our pricing
How much does a website cost in Quebec?
It depends entirely on the number of hours, which is why nobody can give you an honest figure without seeing your project. What we can give you right now is the rate: $100 an hour for development, with no project-management hours. From there the real question becomes “how many hours for what I want?” — and we answer that after a call, in writing, with a breakdown of what is included.
Why $100 an hour?
Because that is what the work is worth, and because it is a rate we can hold without cutting corners. It is not the cheapest on the market: we do not compete with template platforms or offshore subcontracting. It is a craftsman’s rate — someone doing the work himself, with fourteen years behind him and no structure to fund.
Do you really bill zero project-management hours?
Yes. Calls, emails, review rounds and follow-up on your file do not appear on your invoice. We bill design, development, web copywriting and SEO — the work that actually builds your site. That is possible because there is nobody to coordinate: the person you talk to is the person doing the work.
Will I get an account manager?
No, and that is deliberate. You deal directly with the person working on your site. No relay, no “let me check with the team and get back to you”. For a small business that is almost always faster and clearer — and it saves you paying for a role that exists mainly to move information around internally.
Can I get a fixed price instead of an hourly rate?
Yes, with Ready14: a professional site delivered in 14 days at a price known upfront, content and baseline SEO included. The price is fixed because the scope is. As soon as a project moves outside that frame — online store, integration, substantial content structure — the hourly rate is more honest for both sides.
Is SEO billed separately?
The foundations are included in every site: structure, titles, tags, speed, structured data, sitemap and Search Console setup. That is not an option. What becomes a separate mandate is ongoing search work: new content, local pages, links, tracking rankings month after month. That is billed at the same hourly rate.
How do I know the hours won’t balloon?
Because we estimate before starting and put the estimate in writing, broken down by block of work. If something falls outside the estimate — a feature added along the way, a change of direction — we tell you before doing it, not after. A surprise on an invoice is a lost client; we would rather have the uncomfortable conversation at the right time.
Do you work with tight budgets?
Often, yes. When the budget is limited we do not cut quality — we cut scope. We identify the pages and functions that actually pay off, deliver those first, and the rest waits. A small solid site that ranks beats a large unfinished one.
